This report aims to present a comprehensive assessment and analysis of the situation of children and women in Solomon Islands. It is intended to present an evidence base to inform decisionmaking across sectors that are relevant to children and women. This report is particularly intended to contribute to the development of programmes and strategies to protect, respect and fulfil the rights of children and women in 14 Solomon Islands.
It covers the child outcome areas of health (including nutrition), water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), education, child protection (including child justice) and social protection. By assessing and analysing the situation of children and women in relation to these outcomes and in relation to relevant Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), this report seeks to highlight trends, barriers and bottlenecks in the realisation of children’s and women’s rights in Solomon Islands.
