More and more Pacific women are leaving their islands to join Australia’s seasonal worker programs. While the money they are earning helps provide for their families back home, it can come at a high personal cost. Many women leave behind children and partners for months or year on end, and in early 2022, the Australian Senate heard allegations of poor conditions for seasonal workers.
