STEM-qualified workers are in high demand in the Pacific to find solutions to issues like climate change, food security and COVID. But less than a quarter of STEM researchers in the Pacific region are women. So what’s stopping Pacific girls and women from pursuing careers in STEM? And how would these fields be different if there were more women’s voices at the table? Hilda Wayne finds out what it’s like to be one of the few women who have broken with tradition to build careers in these challenging fields.
