Gender and the Reform Process in Vanuatu and Solomon Islands

Recent changes in Vanuatu and Solomon Islands have seen the introduction of reform programs, with an emphasis on good governance and a commitment to addressing gender issues and gender inequality. Successful implementation of such policies depends not only on delivery but funds and personnel. Greater gender awareness depends on closer ties between NGOs and government. Without it, success is unlikely. The rhetoric of policy needs substance.
